Annapurna base camp trek is a renowned, moderately challenging adventures, offering the breathtaking Himalayan views, rich cultural immersion and rewarding journey into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. This exclusive trip offers a remarkable variety of landscapes, from lush forests filled with rhododendron to high alpine meadows and glacial terrain. You will be sightseeing the historical Gorkha palace, experience, observe the first two nights in rural life of northern-central Nepal which is located in Barpak Sulikot rural municipality. Next day will drive to Pokhara which is the tourist hub, boating on Phewa lake, sightseeing around lakeside. There are different trails to reach Annapurna BC but, in our experiences, we suggest to do go through Ghorepani Poon Hill areas. It is the small famous hilltop which is situated at 3,210M, offer the magnificent view of two Himalayan ranges – Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri. After completing this route, will begin our next adventure journey to the base of Mt. Annapurna which is 4,130M. The view from base camp is truly spectacular, offering the views of Mt. Annapurna, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

This trek is good for both beginners and experienced trekkers. No technical skills needed but moderate level of fitness and prior experiences helps to achieve your final goals. Ideal seasons for doing this trip are Spring and Autumn. During these seasons the weather is stable, offering clear skies and the excellent visibility of mountain ranges. Detailed Itinerary

Day 01

Drive Kathmandu to rural village via Gorkha Bazzar (1,522M)

Highlights of the day: Drive through Nepali highway along the Trishuli river, from Abukhaireni ascend hilly roads leading up to Gorkha. You’ll see the hillside settlements before arriving at historic Gorkha Bazzar, home for the famous Gorkha Durbar (Palace) and gateway to Manaslu region treks. Tour of Gorkha bazar, Palace on the way and stay over in a village with a host family.

Drive rural village to Pokhara (822M)

Highlights of the day: Scenic drive along the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers. Pass through terraced fields, river valleys, and hillside villages with views of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal ranges on clear days. Evening free to explore Pokhara Lakeside.

Day 04

Drive Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1,540M) & Trek to Ulleri Gaun (2,020M)

Highlights of the day: Drive through Nayapul and Birethanti, the official entry point to the Annapurna Conservation Area. Begin trekking with a steady climb along the Bhurungdi Khola and stone staircases leading to Ulleri Gaun, a Magar settlement.

Trek Ulleri Gaun to Ghorepani (2,860M)

Highlights of the day: Gentle uphill through oak and rhododendron forests. Ghorepani is famous for its vibrant rhododendron bloom in spring and as a base for Poon Hill sunrise views (next morning). Views of Annapurna South and Nilgiri Himal.

Trek Ghorepani to Chuile (2,195M)

Highlights of the day: Morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) for sunrise over Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Then trek downhill via Tadapani through forested ridges until Chuile.

TREKKING EQUIPMENT GUIDE FOR TREKKING IN THE HIMALAYAS

1) Head Wear
